To be a little bit more correct, you have to take into account the radius of the sun (and earth), since the distance mentioned in the video is the distance between the center of gravity of the sun and the earth. It takes a couple of seconds for light to travel from the center of the sun to the surface; those seconds must be subtracted from 8 min 20 sec, resulting in 8 min 16.7 sec.
