Considering Cultural, Racial, and Linguistic Bias in Early Childhood Measurement Development
This interactive session aims to discuss the role of anti-bias anti-racism (ABAR) work in early childhood measurement development. Speakers will discuss considerations for centering measurement work in a social justice framework. The session will specifically address questions such as, how do we consider issues of racial, cultural, ethnic, and linguistic bias in our development process from construct definition to score interpretation? How do we consider these sources of bias in maximizing performance? How have colonized perspectives homogenized testing interactions, item development and scoring, and reporting procedures?
