In this AP Daily: Live Review session, we will discuss an approach to preparing for the Literary Argument free-response question. Reviewing the nuances of characterization and setting helps us identify prominent subjects and themes in longer works of fiction and drama. We will then discuss the importance of reviewing key scenes that convey these themes in the novels and plays students study throughout the year. We will practice this approach using a prompt and passage from a past AP English Literature and Composition Exam.
