Closing Plenary: Planning for Diversity in Education Research
Diversity is ubiquitous at all levels of the education system from students, to teachers, to parents and administrators, schools, districts and states. Most research barely scratches the surface at any one level, and yet we strive to develop knowledge in education science that is generalizable and replicable. In part, these limitations arise out of constraints on resources, but too often they arise out of researchers' concerns over proper design, measurement, and analysis to accommodate diversity in study samples. This final plenary session of the 2022 IES PI meeting will examine the topic of diversity in education research in an effort to empower researchers to take the broadest possible view in individual studies while also taking the long view on their research and considering the value of building diversity over time in one's research.
