Just for everyones info, it's solved via the quadratic equation: x^2+1 = x^2 + 0x+ 1 = 0 (-b +- sqrt(b^2 -4ac))/2a a=1; b=0; c=1 (0 +- sqrt(0-4))/2 = +-sqrt(-4)/2 = +-(i * sqrt(4)) /2= +-(i * 2/2) = +-i There are two possible solutions: -i and +i. Hope that helped.

The first 20 seconds is literally why I hover on the thumbnail of the video if it has a title like the question when it comes to youtube videos. Just to see if they imply answering the question in the beginning before my patience runs out, like in 5 seconds or so. Because I've noticed that if I'm gonna be teased for 10 minutes and then told "it's exactly what everyone was always saying or would guess" or be extremely vaguely not answering the question after all, I'm not happy with my use of time on that creator's video and won't be viewing another in the future. With channels I've verified I can handle waiting for the answer until the end because I have experienced that their videos are worthwhile watching whatever it is, that I will have been entertained or learned something. But when it's a clickbait title and just dodging the subject until the 10 minute marker or AI generated, I will have gained nothing. The mortgage rate guy in the video is basically the same content creator, perhaps the AI content. But equally empty and wasting your time, he just uses obvious statements instead of going around the world to avoid answering the question before they have benefited and knowing that the moment the answer comes they'll lose you because they don't have any depth to the content, despite lengthy scripts. Honestly though, coding is the worst. You know there's a super simple solution but you just don't remember what it used, and all the solutions you find are extremely complicated, unnecessarily so and require custom libraries or something you have no idea how to setup and even if you do in python, it doesn't work or do the thing. But then again I've had a similar thing happen with basic CAD modeling, just a very simple and practical thing or a feature and can't remember how it was done in that class years ago. The Indian guy on youtube has the weirdest method ever and probably doesn't even do the thing you wanted. And the same applies to literally every software you ever tried using actually. Why is life so hard if you want to get the simple basic function answers to software related problems? Or why is life so hard when you have a perfectly normal practical problem but the default ways don't provide that so you wonder why you can't buy an item that does exactly what everyone wants to, you get multiple pieces that go or don't go together to do something different. But having said that, I now remember it's a business opportunity, to produce that thing that everyone wants instead of the list of other things. It's just that if you look into it, you realise that it's not financially worth it. Thanks for providing a space to rant, it's the last fumes of the night we're running on here.

Don't know, the model gpt-5-mini gives a solid answer. On reddit there also always at least 3 annoying users who ask you if you check if someone asked this question before. In a forum are a always people who will not answer but instead propose a solution for another problem "Why do you not solve x² -1 = 0 ?" And you can not convince them that you do not need this solution. And then they'll get very angry.
