Yeah, i = sqrt(-1) was mentioned, but there's sooo much more. The one thing I fear most throughout Quantum Physics math is juggling i, LOL! Let's start with 1 / i = -i ? What the... !! That should be a joke to keep the smart kids quiet for a while: "Ok, kids, what number is the same as its inverse?" Smart kids: " 1 = 1 / 1 " "Ok, kids, what number is the negative of its inverse?" Smart kids: [cricket chirping]. LMFAO! Well, hopefully by the end of the video you know that i^2 = -1, but did you know that 1 / i^2 = -1 too? Yep, all of these equal -1: { i^2 , i^(-2), 1/i^2, 1/i^(-2) } = { -1, -1, -1, -1 } And the exact same thing with 3's instead of 2's is completely different: { i^3 , i^(-3), 1/i^3, 1/i^(-3) } = { -i, i, i, -i } And the exact same thing with 4's instead of 3's is completely different: { i^4 , i^(-4), 1/i^4, 1/i^(-4) } = { 1, 1, 1, 1 } And then the exact same thing with 5's instead of 4's is the complete opposite of the 3's: { i^5 , i^(-5), 1/i^5, 1/i^(-5) } = { i, -i, -i, i } Uhhh....? Uh - YEAH! I'm tellin' ya, i will total blow your mind, and just wait until it gets under some vinculum (becomes a radicand; gets inside an n-th. root thingy) - holy cow, you know it can come out, you just have no idea what it'll come out as!!! Just when you think you've got it, i will hunt you down! LMAO. AND the powers don't commutate (you can't swap them): ( i^(1/3) )^3 does in NO WAY equal ( i^3)^(1/3) ?¿?¿?! Ok, did you get that last one? Now how 'bout it’s inverse: ( i^3)^(-1/3) ? Ya, whenever someone asks me to explain how a low-energy electron could quantum tunnel across a high-energy band-gap, I just tell them " 'i' did it! " If you ask me, i is the Tao of Physics, why there’s Quantum Entanglement, and the reason for dark matter - all those Imaginary numbers you keep ignoring gotta go somewhere! Yep, i is like the HexaFlexigon of the universe. Reach in the hat and pull out… a rabbit! Do it again and this time you get... a banana?
