Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for this awesome video on studying tips for future college semesters. When I was an Electrical Engineering student at the University of Maryland College Park, I studied in small groups and it really increased my overall knowledge and understanding of each course.

1. Ask dumb questions. The dumb stuff will trip you up and confuse you on exams. It's best to get it cleared up early in the lesson so you can learn the topic correctly. 2. Don't be too shy to talk to your professors and ask them for help. Professors love the topics they teach and low-key favor students who go out of their way to learn more.

Personally, I found writing un-memorizable things on the wall in my room was REALLY HELPFUL. From waking up to going to bed, I would see maths, physics and especially organic chemistry equations wherever I look. Sure there was some hassle removing them after exams but it was DEFINITELY worth it

What works for me is that: Over the semester I try to get a basic understanding of the most important topics by being attentive in class and taking class notes whenever possible. It helps me keep track of how many topics there are and how important they are. Then a few days before the exam, I start with the least important topics to try and cover everything and lastly grind the most important topics up until the exam starts. It helps me stay calm and unafraid before any exam and even have extra days for rest. The trick is the maximum utilization of time by not studying useless things before the exam.

Never take notes during a lecture but you should be after it, this technique helped me a lot in forcing my brain to remember things, Another thing I really think is useful whatever the material is, I read it and think about it, to understand not for test but for me, after this reformulate and write what I understood.

I have a 3-Step system that helps me study efficiently and effectively: Writing Notes, Memorizing Notes, and Practice Problems 1) Writing Notes Write Notes in either one of two ways: Cornell Style (preferable) or write the important terms, definitions, and prominent examples. 2) Memorize Notes Take the very key concepts, equations, vocabulary, techniques, etc. to turn your notes into flashcards, as opposed to rereading notes over and over, for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Flashcards can be made on your phone and practiced anywhere at any time, which makes them a highly effective technique. Furthermore, making or reviewing flashcards before exercising or going to bed will ensure you remember them afterwards (according to research and studies done on this topic). 3) Practice Problems Now, put your knowledge to the test by doing homework and practice problems. Then, analyze the problems you missed and see WHY you missed them by looking up a step-by-step solution (or asking someone else like your professor or TA). Afterwards, review the notes and/or flashcards that covered the concept(s) and try similar problems. A bonus 4th tip is concept and pattern recognition: this will come naturally as you continue to practice and connect the important ideas/concepts/equations together and tie them to the problem.

a good college tip is that professors are not teachers; if you want to learn, do it yourself and don’t expect the professor to teach you. professors are not teachers; professors are just there to clean up the edges and answer any questions you may have. welcome to college it’s a pet peeve of mine when students blame the professor for failing when the student never bothered to read the book or learn on their own. college isn’t highschool; no one’s holding your hand

Something i would recommend is to try and find something interesting within each subjekt your learning. For me trying to find something i thougth were interesting or cool in (for example) math or physics helped me a ton when i tried to learn it. Me being interesting in a certain part of a subjekt helped me understand more and become more engaged. Btw great videos, Keep it up👍
